The invitation features a striking, high-contrast palette of our plum and flamingo letterpress ink on our amethyst paper. The color combination is playful and elevates the look. Rather than relying on florals or ornamental details, the design uses geometric shapes, crisp borders, and bold color blocking to create visual interest. This modern design is juxtaposed with the traditional technique of letterpress printing. Our 2-ply color paper holds a deep, crisp impression, introducing a tactile element to the design.
A contemporary serif font with dramatic strokes gives the names a fashionable prominence, while clean sans-serif text provides balance and readability. The restrained use of typography allows the vivid colors to remain the focal point.

For their wedding stationery, Katrina and John envisioned something modern and minimalist, yet still soft, with an emphasis on their wedding venue in Southern Italy. The couple worked with our dear friend Carolyn from Just Paper and Tea to create the perfect Mediterranean wedding invitations.
Our Kailua design was a great starting point. Instead of the seaside scene of the inspiration design, the couple opted to showcase imagery of the venue, Masseria Le Torri in Polignano a Mare. It blends clean contemporary design with organic, Old World texture. The look is effortless but still very much intentional. The monochromatic ink choice of our vine letterpress over clover digital gives it cohesion and calm. The color palette also evokes the coastal landscape and olive trees that dot the region.
The layout plays with scale and adds depth. Bold, large-format names in all uppercase create a presence and structure. In contrast to the delicate body text, for visual drama. The same font appears throughout for simplicity and consistency.

The events and details cards maintain the same look. Instead, both cards feature an illustration of a prickly pear cactus, which also grows in the area. The envelope liner features the same illustration. It leans coastal Mediterranean, which keeps the look modern and location-driven.

There’s something striking about an invitation with a crisp letterpress impression that we can’t get enough of. Samantha and David’s modern pewter letterpress wedding invitations are no exception to that! The couple worked with our flagship store to create this contemporary yet moody suite. Similarly to the invitation, the reply and rehearsal dinner cards printed in Pewter created further consistency. To contrast, the information card printed in Silver Matte with a Bella Black backdrop gave this set an element of surprise. Prism Shine foil edging added around the outside of the invitation created a pop of color that would wow guests. Finally, a Bella Black envelope lined with a marble pattern enclosed this modern yet moody suite.
