textured letterpress wedding invitations

Kimberly and Kenneth worked with our Bella Figura Brooklyn store to create these textured letterpress wedding invitations. Inspired by Triton, they made the design their own by using black ink rather than foil for the type. This kept the color palette easy to read. The blind deboss pattern in the background added a wave-like texture to the design. The details card followed suit with a deboss textured added to the top. They opted for a solid envelope liner to keep the design clean.

colorful bar mitzvah invitations with a custom envelope liner

Disenos Personalizados helped us bring these colorful Bar Mitzvah invitations to life for Rafael. The majority of the invitation printed digitally contained Bronze Shine accents to make the design pop. On the reverse, they added a matching back pocket to contain all the insert cards. They opted for insert cards printed in Black digital ink using corresponding fonts to make sure everything looked cohesive. Finally, a custom foil envelope liner pattern added even more colorful interest to this suite.

letterpress birthday invitations with animal motifs

It’s not every day a little one turns one, let alone two little ones! Our Bella Figura – Manhattan store helped create these letterpress birthday invitations for Valentino and Siena. Inspired by our Lani design, we used the blind debossed palm pattern as well as on the envelope liner. Animal motifs in Cobblestone added a playful element to the set. Additionally, little Gold Matte party-hats added a pop of shine to this sweet motif. A matching envelope coordinated with the Cobblestone letterpress printed on the invitation. Finally, the envelope liner printed in Sea-Mist brightened up the overall color palette.

introducing: bella figura – greenpoint

We’re so happy to share that Bella Figura has joined the West Street Collective of wedding vendors at 67 West Street on the Greenpoint waterfront. Q: What makes the Greenpoint studio space unique from the other Bella Figura locations?

A: North Brooklyn has a lively energy and more industrial aesthetic, and we’re excited to work with couples in our sunny Greenpoint location. We are fortunate to be a part of the West Street Wedding Collective, which is a group of independent wedding vendors. We share a beautiful bridal salon with our friends at Oak & Honey catering, Bluespark photography, Framed Florals, Loulette, Boho Bridal, Taryn Winters, and Pre-dame Beauty.

Q: Tell us more about the other wedding vendors in that space!

A: It’s a great one-stop-shop for couples planning their wedding. Also, we’re in the same building as the Greenpoint Loft wedding venue! Coming to our space is a great opportunity for clients to see not only our Bella Figura collection but also what other vendors in the collective have to offer. There are also fun perks for clients who book with multiple West Street Wedding Collective vendors. Prior to opening our Greenpoint location, we had a lot of clients traveling from North Brooklyn to our Park Slope and Upper East Side locations. We’re excited to meet them where they are.

Q: What does your day typically looks like at Greenpoint?

A: Every day is different, but most days there’s a lively atmosphere here with bridal fittings and make-up trials happening at the studio nearby. It’s fun to share in the excitement—weddings vibes are good vibes! At our Greenpoint location we’re open Friday-Sunday, and we mostly see clients by appointment. Since our space is tiny but mighty, we want to make sure everyone who comes through our doors gets the attention they deserve! In our consultations we walk our clients through the design process, answer any questions, and help them hone in on their design direction. Our clients are unique and it’s always fun to see what they are drawn to.
We’ve been in touch with local venues, and we’re working on creating illustrations of north Brooklyn’s most popular venues, along with invitation suites—so stay tuned for those!

greenpoint

Q: What are your hopes for the newest Bella Figura location?

A: We’re looking forward to being a part of the Greenpoint community and getting to know our neighbors more. While the salon has a wedding focus, we are of course still happy to help with birthday, holiday, and other custom printing projects.

hunter letterpress day-of stationery

Melody and Paul worked with our Upper-East side Bella Figura store to create their hunter letterpress day-of stationery. The folded program and menu both use a small botanical element to keep design consistency. Rather than adding multiple colors to the design, they kept it simple and clean in a subtle, green shade. They used a serif font throughout the day-of stationery without any script font accents to further that clean overall cohesiveness.

olive letterpress wedding invitations

We helped Big City Bride create these Olive letterpress wedding invitations for Emily and Robert. They used our Terrace design as a jumping-off point for their personal set. Instead of using foil, they opted for Olive letterpress ink for the majority of the suite. This gave the set an overall earthy aesthetic. It includes a matching reply card, accommodation card as well as a welcome reception card. To keep with the more rustic feel, they used Jute envelopes to compliment the rest of the suite. The envelopes lined with a vintage print of Chicago added a final touch of personalization printed in Olive to match.

blind debossed wedding invitations with a pop of red

Marissa and Franklin worked with our Bella Figura Brooklyn store to create their blind debossed wedding invitations. Inspired by Link, large symbols added an overall texture without any ink to the design. They chose Brandon as a complementary font to keep the type modern and clean. The reply card coordinates with the invitation also using black and blind deboss elements. The Currant outer envelope adds a pop of color to this otherwise neutral color palette. A copper metallic envelope liner added a touch of shimmer to complete the suite.

A peek into the Bridelux Atelier

We participated in the Bridelux Atelier held at The InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel this past weekend. While at the event, attendees had the opportunity to meet different types of wedding professionals. At our booth, we featured invitation samples including highlights from our 2020 collection. A lucky winner even went home with $500 towards their Bella Figura invitation order. A huge thanks to those who stopped by and for those who missed it, visit our stores or any of our dealer locations.

moody floral invitations inspired by neville

We worked with Brittany directly to help bring her moody floral invitations to life. Inspired by our Neville save the date design, they used similar fonts and expanded the size of the layout. They added touches of Sophia script to bring out the overall elegance of the design. They paired the invitation with a complimentary envelope liner. Lastly, this vintage print accented the vintage print used as the back-drop on the invitation.

copper foil invitations with botanical accents

Samantha and Timothy worked with Oliver’s Twist to create these copper foil invitations with botanical accents. Their names pop off the page in Copper Shine foil along with the floral accent at the top. The rest of the invitation printed in Marsala letterpress added a softer touch to the design. To broaden the color palette further, they included touches of Currant paper on the details card and outer envelope. The reply card features vintage print florals carried over from the envelope liner. To finish the set, a rehearsal dinner card paired with a Jute envelope kept everything cohesive with the overall rustic, botanical charm.

bella figura real wedding: coastal letterpress invitations for a montauk affair

All it takes is a pair of high school sweethearts getting hitched and a set of coastal letterpress invitations to set the stage for a perfect Montauk wedding. The historic Montauk Point Lighthouse served as the backdrop for this happy couple’s wedding day this past September. The celebration continued with views for days at 360º East at Montauk Downs. The invitations easily matched this beachy aesthetic with a clean design paired with a gray color palette. They worked with our Bella Figura – Brooklyn location to bring their vision to life. We will let the bride Brittany take it from here to share more about her big day!

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A BIT ABOUT YOUR WEDDING AND YOUR INSPIRATION FOR THE EVENT?

The September sun shone brightly against clear blue skies as a gentle breeze floated off the ocean. It was something out of a dream! The distinct natural beauty of Montauk inspired our wedding. Having grown up together in Southampton, New York, just 25 miles from Montauk, we knew we wanted a relaxed coastal vibe. We embraced the setting by incorporating a sea of blues and grays and whites throughout the details of our wedding day.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR COUPLES CURRENTLY PLANNING A WEDDING?

Sweat the small stuff! One of our favorite parts of wedding planning was finding ways to weave our love, our story, and our personalities into the details. When Henry and I first started dating in high school, we would often spend summer days collecting shells on the beach in Southampton—so we thought it would be fitting to use hand-calligraphed scallop shells as escort cards as a nod to our early days together. The guestbook was a vintage lighthouse book my mom came upon in a local thrift store. Our signature cocktail was named for our beloved cat, Woodley May. Instead of favors, we donated to the National MS Society, a charity near to our hearts.

HOW DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR INVITATION DESIGN & INK COLORS?

For our wedding invitations, we envisioned a clean design that reflected the casual elegance of Montauk. To bring our vision to life, we chose dark gray letterpress on light gray paper, paired with a white envelope. We had our names printed in an organic script and selected a modern serif font for the rest of the invitation wording. We personalized the envelope liner by adding a white and gray design reminiscent of waves crashing on the coast. The same design was incorporated into our save-the-date cards and menus for visual coherence.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT

I will never forget our ceremony at Camp Hero. I walked down the aisle with both my parents to a string duet playing “Air on the G String”—the same processional song my parents selected for their Montauk wedding more than 30 years ago. My sister and brother and Henry’s best friend stood beside us. Our friend who has known us for more than 10 years officiated with a script we wrote together and a beautiful tribute to our relationship. Henry and I then read hand-written vows, in which we reflected on the thirteen years of laughter, tears, understanding, friendship, and love that had led us to that moment. We ended the ceremony with the breaking of the glass and our guests shouting “Mazal Tov!”

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE NEWLYWEDS?

After our wedding, we traveled to Peru for our honeymoon, which was filled with adventure, culture, and breathtakingly beautiful sights. For now, we are continuing to enjoy all the wonderful opportunities that living in Brooklyn has to offer.
