Jennifer and Joel worked with our friends at The Papery of Philadelphia to create these modern typography wedding invitations. The couple chose our Irving design and made a few small changes that had major impact – like a foil stamped border and festive dots on the reception card. The black letterpress and tawny matte foil palette was contemporary but elegant, paralleling their venue Front & Palmer.

Max celebrated his eightieth birthday with a black tie celebration at The Lotus Club in New York City, one of the oldest literary clubs in the United States. The foil and letterpress birthday party invitations were inspired by our Adele design and printed in black and french vanilla letterpress inks and copper shine foil to compliment the timeless elegance of the venue’s decor. Thanks to our flagship store in New York City for helping create these stunning invitations!

Lindsay and Stephen worked with our friends at Gus & Ruby Letterpress to create these vintage-inspired pink floral wedding invitations based on our Vintage Apothecary design. The end result is over the top romantic, from Debi Zeinert’s sweeping hand calligraphy to the sweet color palette of wine and whisper.
Brooke and her family worked with our friends at Written and Wrapped to customize our Parker design for her recent Bat Mitzvah. They chose a fresh color palette of cornflower letterpress ink and silver matte foil and chose a geometric patterned envelope liner to carry through the contemporary feel. The square shape further personalized these modern Bat Mitzvah invitations.

This timeless Marsala color palette is made up of rich wine, woodsy umber and soft shades of fawn and sand to create a rustic and romantic look. Last week we participated in the 2016 New York Weddings Event, where New York City brides had the opportunity to meet with dozens of the city’s best vendors for everything from wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses to caterers and dance studios. The event was held at Capitale, a lavish event venue in the former Bowery Savings Bank building. Jumbo white balloons and hot pink and metallic gold fringe decor lined the entryway for an impressive start to the event. They even dressed up the Capitale lions!
We had an intimate space in the main ballroom where we displayed panels of some of our newest invitation designs, along with baskets of best-selling invitations and save the dates for brides and grooms to browse for wedding inspiration.
Spring was definitely in the air at Thursday’s event – aren’t those tissue paper flowers from event planner 5th Avenue Weddings beautiful? We also loved the enchanting look of the Designs by Ahn display, which included a mix of impressive floral arrangements, even taller greenery displays, and romantic candles.

Our friends at Urbanic Paper Boutique worked with Karen and David on their modern geometric wedding invitations, using our Briolette design as inspiration. They were married at The Parker Palm Springs and chose these invitations to compliment the hip and chic atmosphere The Parker is known for. A retro color palette of prussian blue, pale gray and a custom pink were highlighted by gold matte foil and a classic color envelope liner in prussian blue added a hint of sophistication.

Our friends at PS Invitations worked with Molly and Matt on their modern beach wedding invitations inspired by their venue, The Hillsboro Club. They used our Loretta Formal design as inspiration but opted for a more modern font to accompany Debi Zeinert’s hand calligraphy. Our modern herringbone pattern was used on additional cards and on the envelope liner and surf ink tied in their seaside venue.

Amanda is a freelance graphic designer and art-director based in Chicago. She is the co-creator and founding designer of Kinfolk Magazine. Amanda’s favorite projects to design are books, cookbooks and periodicals, but she also does company branding and web design. Read on to learn more about her path to design!
My mom is a photographer so I’d work as her assistant during the summers. That started my path to the arts. The stress of photographing weddings lead me to study something that was a little more laid back, and that’s why I chose design. I studied at Brigham Young University and then interned at a couple places before joining a design firm after graduation. Two years after working full-time, I jumped ship and started my freelance career. It was terrifying, but it was also one of the best decisions I could have ever made.
I like to think I have a classic / modern mix. I think I lean toward the masculine side of design – and often go with the mantra less is more.

I generally work from home. I’m a newish mom and for me, it’s the perfect situation. I get to be with my daughter during the day and get my work done in the morning, evenings and nap time.
When it comes to finding inspiration, I have a ton of design books – old and new – that I love to flip through. When I’m in a design rut, I’ll put on a new album or go for a walk. Fresh air always seems to fix a brain block.
What I think is great the longer I’m in the design industry is how more and more – it’s ok to break the rules. In college studying design, I was always worried I was “breaking the rules” of design. But really, some of the best stuff out there doesn’t follow any rules.

We had the pleasure of working with Erin and Nicholas on their purple Wildflower wedding invitations for their recent celebration in California. They chose a monochromatic palette, using amethyst ink as their main color and highlighting their names in our soft and romantic wisteria ink.
Jennifer and Jason chose gold foil wedding invitations for their late summer nuptials at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Our friends at Phantastic Papers helped them choose our ever popular gold matte foil, Sarah Hanna’s hand calligraphy and a simple yet sophisticated border that was complimented by our diego patterned foil liner.
