Juliana and Leo were in need of stationery for their elegant black-tie wedding, to be held on October 31st. This couple worked with our dear friend Christy of Eventful Designs to create their custom moody modern black-tie wedding suite, leaning into the day’s gothic decadence while maintaining a timeless glamour.

The folder is the first thing guests see, and it’s worth a detailed look. This piece draws on our Royce design for its construction and functionality. The couple took the look in a very different direction to fit their aesthetic. 

The cover features a prominent intertwined monogram of the couple’s initials in tawny shine foil. A fine double-line oval, also foil-stamped, frames the monogram, creating a refined Art Deco feel. The rest of the folder’s exterior features a geometric harlequin pattern done in blind deboss. The impression is pressed into the paper without ink, for a subtle look. The folder’s interior is equally lovely. Our Bella velvet in wine is glamorous and romantic, adding another tactile element to the suite. The invitation is adhered to the folder on the right, and a belly band on the left secures the other cards in this wedding stationery suite.

The oval die-cut invitation mimics the linear frame on the folder’s cover, creating a sense of consistency. The elegant typography balances romance with formality. The rehearsal dinner invitation borrows the folder’s linear frame and geometric diamond pattern.

In a suite full of exceptional pieces, it’s hard to pick a favorite, but the menus are pretty spectacular. Each menu features a guest’s name at the bottom, allowing it to also serve as a place card. The menu slips into a velvet sleeve with a curve at the bottom, ensuring the name is visible. Each menu is also hole-drilled and grommeted so that you can attach a ribbon. The sleeve features the same monogram and oval border.
