Bella Figura Real Wedding – Ellie and Kevin

Ellie and Kevin hosted a spectacularly elegant wedding in Toronto last June, an event so breathtaking in its sophistication that we just had to share. From their gorgeous letterpress wedding invitations to the dress to the cake, no detail was forgotten. The best part? Ellie and Kevin assembled an amazing team of wedding professionals and managed to pull off this fabulous event in just six months of planning! Held at St. James Cathedral, Ellie and Kevin were married in a traditional Anglican ceremony with the reception following at Le Royal Meridien King Edward’s Sovereign Ballroom. Using a romantic color palette based on shades of soft white with red accents, Ellie wanted the event to have a simple, understated style and opted for a customized version of our Empire design in blueberry ink with blind debossed accents and gold edge painting. We also printed gorgeous letterpress programs and letterpress menus for this beautiful wedding.

Ellie’s dress was by Platinum for Priscilla of Boston, purchased at Pearl Bridal House in Mississauga, Ontario and her bridesmaids wore dresses by JCrew, Sophia in vintage burgundy silk tricotine. A friend of a friend did their beautiful flowers, which included fragrant white rose bouquets and centerpieces that were a classic mix of white and red hydrangeas, roses and peonies. The bride and groom joined their wedding party at a large round table in lieu of a traditional head table and opted for a stunning cake from Dessert Trends of Toronto. Their gorgeous wedding photographs were taken by Andreas Avdoulos of Andreas Photo and the couple worked with wedding planner Jodi Gagne of Simply Perfect to make sure their wedding went off without a hitch.

For brides still planning their weddings, we asked Ellie to share a bit of advice.
I would advise them to hire a wedding planner! Mine was Jodi Gagne of Simply Perfect Events and her help, support and sanity was invaluable. On the day of the wedding all I had to do was sit back, enjoy the day with my friends and family and try and relax. There was no detail that I had to concern myself about. Not only was everything taken care of but Jodi instilled in me a confidence so I knew everything would be taken care of.

We also asked Ellie about her favorite part of the day…
The wedding day was full of wonderful moments. I have to admit the day went quite smoothly which I was a bit nervous about because the wedding had been planned within a six-month period. However, one of the best moments was after dinner and the speeches when we showed our wedding guests a 5 minute video that our incredibly talented videographers had already put together of the actual wedding day. An option they offered in addition to our wedding videos was that some of the video footage taken during the first half of the day and theĀ  ceremony would be edited and put to music while we were eating and listening to speeches. When the video started playing our audience was amazed (as were we) by the quality of the editing that had been accomplished within a couple of hours. It was such an exciting moment and gave everyone a glimpse of the earlier part of the day before the ceremony.

And that very same-day edit video that stunned Ellie, Kevin and their guests, filmed by Toronto’s own Still Motion, has also filled us with awe. Opening with a gorgeous shot of Ellie and Kevin’s letterpress invitations from Bella Figura, we are totally in love with the work of Still Motion and are so excited to share their same-day edit with you!
