Bella Figura Design Contest First Place Winner – Custom Letterpress Invitations from Gus & Ruby Letterpress! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Our AMAZING friends at Gus and Ruby Letterpress in Portsmouth, New Hampshire submitted this letterpress wedding invitation set to us. We were thrilled to see the Harbor Beach design, by Jessica Tierney, used in combination with the Anais design, by Ian Koenig. The final product was styled perfectly using pewter and navy inks, clean lines and bold text. It was no surprise that this nautical yet urban design won first place in the Bella Figura Design Contest!

Samantha Finigan and Whitney Swaffield, founders of Gus & Ruby Letterpress were gracious enough to share the story behind this design with all of us:

“Sarah & Peter, a lovely bicoastal couple, came to us needing invitations for both their Maine and Seattle weddings.  One wedding is going be held on their newly purchased coastal Maine home while the other is going to take place in a chic, industrial space in urban Seattle, Washington. The Maine invitation needed to have a New England feel while still conveying the couple’s fab, swanky taste while the Seattle invitation had to set the tone right away for their clean, hip West Coast bash.  We customized the Harbor Beach design with a strong captain’s font to give a subtle nod to the nautical Maine way of life.  The Anais design really hit home right off the bat; so, only some color changes made that a perfect fit.”

Sarah and Peter, can you add me to the guest list!?

inks: navy + pewter | fonts: harlow + holden + roe | paper: 2-ply white | invite size: f-8 | liner: the antique geometric pattern in navy ink, and the classic color pattern in navy ink | edge painting: navy ink
