We are absolutely delighted to share this next real wedding. We printed invitations and programs in our String Calligraphy design to set the tone for Sionne & Nick’s elegant summer wedding, and we were so thrilled when Sionne sent us photos from the big day. She was kind enough to share some of the details of what went into planning this stunning celebration.

What was your favorite part of the day?

We loved the entire weekend that we celebrated with our family and friends – it was so special to get to share one of our favorite places with everyone!  Our favorite memory of the day, however, is our actual wedding ceremony.  One of our best friends, Charles Collins-Chase, officiated our wedding and did the most incredible job.  He centered our ceremony on narratives that he requested that we both write – and not discuss with each other – to explain why we wanted to get married and what getting married meant to each of us.  Hearing each other’s sentiments for the first time in front of our guests made the ceremony really feel like our relationship was culminating in a union that everyone was witnessing.  People kept commenting that it was the most emotional ceremony that they had ever attended and it really brought the focus of the day back on our marriage, rather than just the celebration around it (which was, of course, a favorite memory as well!).

It’s always such a pleasure to work with our amazing clients and to craft their unique creative vision into letterpress reality (really it is).  Take for instance these extended horizontal thank you notes – they’re so different and cool that we just had to share them with everyone.  They feature Patricia Mumau‘s Harrison style hand calligraphy, and they’re printed in a stunning combination of espresso and ink-less blind deboss.  The champagne edge painting really stands out boldly on our 2-ply paper and we absolutely love the way no. 10 dimensions work for this piece.

The whimsical style of Harrison hand calligraphy, by Patricia Mumau, looks weightless in pale gray and shell inks. It’s airy, sweet, and oh so lovely! The Bella Figura team fell in love with this design’s soft simplicity – so we just had to have it place second in our design contest.

Erin, from Social Graces, surprised us with STUNNING photos from this wedding (thank you, thank you) and we were all blown away! The invitation fit this bride’s vision perfectly! From the detailed lace dress to the luscious, monochromatic flowers, this wedding looked like a dream!

“Picking out my wedding invitations and paper goods was one of my favorite parts of the wedding planning process! We simply adore this customization of our String Calligraphy letterpress wedding invitation design, which features the hand calligraphy of Bella Figura calligrapher Patricia Mumau of Primele Studio. It was letterpress printed in black ink on our 2-ply cotton paper and features papaya edge painting. The backside of the invitations as well as the escort cards and favor cards all showcase our Emile design in blind deboss, while the letterpress thank you cards and envelopes all feature a custom designed, blind deboss tree motif, perfect for this South African safari wedding. To complete this beautiful custom design, the envelopes are lined in champagne and the favor cards were hole drilled and grommeted.
