Featuring the gorgeous hand calligraphy of Debi Zeinert, Classic Calligraphy definitely tends to be one of our more, well, classic designs.  Throw some fresh Navy ink and vibrant Watermelon edge painting into the mix though, and you get a really great splash of bold contemporary style.  A brightly contrasting edge paint color is a wonderful way to make things fun and current without going too far overboard and loosing the vintage-inspired vibe of the overall set.  These invitations also feature a cute website card – an elegant and eco-friendly way to direct guests to your website for additional wedding details.

In a unique twist on Beth Ann Seal‘s classic Palmas design, this invitation set features the exquisitely personal Belle hand calligraphy of Maybelle Imasa-Stukuls in place of the design’s original fonts.  The calligraphy adds a distinct mark of human touch, which is reinforced by the deep, tactile impression of the artisan letterpress printing.  Ink-less blind deboss printing for the art-deco inspired border keeps things subtle, while a bright clover envelope liner adds a splash of excitement to this chic and natural looking invitation set.

Part of what makes calligraphy letterpress invitations so amazing is that each one is always going to be a little different from every other one we’ve ever made before.  With each design being painstakingly written out by hand before being digitized and eventually turned into a printing plate for letterpress printing, there’s always bound to be subtle (and beautiful) variations.  But there’s unique, and then there’s unique.

Take for instance this design here, featuring the lavish hand calligraphy of the super-talented Sarah Hannah.  This design most closely resembles Sarah’s Magnolia design, but despite the family resemblance they’re clearly not the same animal.  The couple’s names on this invitation are much more elaborately embellished than usual and the ornate flourishes along the edges of the original design have been dropped entirely.  This look is exactly what the bride was going for, and it was completely doable since Sarah was able to understand what she was envisioning and translate it into beautiful calligraphy.

Printed in black ink on our 2-ply ivory paper and affixed to our opal colored pocketfolds – the end result is devastatingly elegant.

In preparation for our first trek to the National Stationery Show this past week, we joined forces with our sister company (and BFF) Smock to send out a fabulous letterpress invitation to show attendees. The design features our Simple Geometrics pattern in blind deboss paired with gorgeous calligraphy from Bella Figura calligrapher Sarah Hanna printed in our Prussian ink. Watermelon edge painting and a pairing of great Smock invitations made for the perfect letterpress package.

Impeccably elegant in antique gold ink on our luxury 2-ply cotton paper these letterpress invitations, our Amor design, boast the stunning calligraphy of Sarah Hanna. With pretty antique gold edge painting and a perfectly suited antique gold envelope liner, they are as romantic as they are charmingly fanciful.

We loved seeing this real wedding featuring an absolutely dazzling Bella Figura bride and her dapper groom on Style Me Pretty recently. They planned a Gatsby inspired affair, traditional, black-tie, and completely stylish. (Check out her gorgeous Oscar de la Renta lace dress and headpiece!) A garden wedding was followed by an indoor formal seated dinner, all filled with romantic details. Our Classic Calligraphy letterpress invitations set the stage, with gorgeous calligraphy from Bella Figura calligraphy Debi Zeinert of The Blooming Quill showcased throughout their stunning celebration.

We loved seeing these gorgeous photos by Jonathan Young from Leticia and Mark’s recent wedding sent over by one of our amazing Bella Figura calligraphers, Patricia Mumau of Primele. Leticia and Mark were married in June at the picturesque Blue Hill at Stone Barns just outside of New York City and chose our New Calligraphy letterpress invitations by another of our long time favorite calligraphers, Debi Zeinert of The Blooming Quill. The invitations were printed in cardinal ink and the couple then worked with Patricia for the calligraphy addressing and gorgeous escort cards featuring crisp white ink on red envelopes. We love the rich, vibrant jewel tones Mark and Leticia chose for their celebration and the fun pairing of Debi and Patricia’s calligraphy. Penned exclusively for us by calligrapher Patricia Mumau, our String Calligraphy letterpress wedding invitation design is becoming a fast favorite among our new 2010 designs. Each invitation is lovingly hand written by Patricia and then letterpressed by Bella Figura, making each piece a truly personalized creation. This customization is printed in navy ink and features edge painting in fuchsia for a delightfully modern interpretation of a very traditional craft.

Our Victoria Calligraphy design, penned exclusively for us by renowned calligrapher Sarah Hanna, is one of seven new calligraphy letterpress wedding invitations we introduced with our 2010 collection. The opportunity to print this for the first time for one of our Bella Figura clients was an absolute joy. This couple chose classic black ink for the letterpress invitation itself and opted for a modern punch of color in our Tiffany Blue ink for the reply card insert. We love how this set turned out and just can’t get enough of Sarah’s beautiful work.
