Our New Calligraphy design has been a perennial favorite for parents looking to announce their new additions in a stylishly sweet way, and these two letterpress baby announcements show why this design is so versatile.
Pia’s family chose a girly combination of cherry blossom and neon pink letterpress inks and added shine with a gold foil envelope liner.
For baby Grant, our subtle shale letterpress ink was paired with our Natura liner pattern for an earthy, botanic inspired announcement.

Stephanie and Kingdon were inspired by our Chatsworth design when dreaming up stationery for their wedding at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay. They decided on letterpress wedding invitations featuring hand calligraphy from Sarah Hanna and opted for a neutral palette of desert and prussian blue letterpress inks. Their suite was elegantly understated but they did add a touch of the unexpected by way of the custom calligraphed monogram that was used as an allover pattern on the backside of their events cards. Many thanks to our friends at Oliver’s Twist for helping Stephanie and Kingdon with their wedding stationery!

We keep our calligraphers pretty busy, but they work on some really cool projects on their own time. Our newest calligrapher, Ted Clausen, had the honor of contributing to the nation’s Christmas Tree at the White House! He worked on site for two days to create a hand calligraphed ribbon and sixty ornaments that adorned the tree in the Blue Room.
“The fine folks at Rafanelli Events, working with the White House, came up with the idea to wrap the tree with a ribbon on which I wrote out the Preamble to the Constitution,” says Ted. “In addition, they asked me to write out tweets from family members to troops serving overseas. These tweets were written on round mirrored ornaments and hung on the tree.”
“I think the effect was impressive; as you walked in you first noticed the large writing on the ribbon, and after walking around the tree to read a few more of the words you suddenly realized what the text was. Then, as you looked closer you saw the handwritten and personal tweets. The more formal values are offered by the preamble and the more personal statements are related by the tweets to those who are serving to uphold those values. It was a moving experience to be a part of.”

When your photographic envelope liner showcases an impressive view of the Appalachian Mountains you can keep the rest of your suite pretty minimal and still have an impressive presentation. That’s just what Mackenzie and Patrick did with their hand calligraphy wedding invitations, using Nicole Black’s whimsical lettering and a sweet pine sprig motif printed in a palette that tied back to their stunning liner. Many thanks to our friends at The Write Touch!

Kristi and Christopher chose our Ambrosia design for their classic black hand calligraphy wedding invitations. Nicole Black’s stately hand calligraphy was used throughout their suite and set the tone for their Chicago Athletic Association wedding. They kept the look formal on the invitation and reply card and had some fun with modern typography on the save the date and rehearsal dinner invitation. With the help of our friends at Write on Sarasota, Cara and Mathew imagined their hand calligraphy wedding invitations in black letterpress and silver matte foil. Debi Zeinert’s hand calligraphy highlighted their names and a typographic monogram was used as the focal point of the custom envelope liner. Our elegant garden pattern was foil stamped in silver matte on the back of the invitation for an unexpected display of floral elegance.

Angela and Robert worked with our friends at Georgia Ann’s Paperie to create these classic black letterpress wedding invitations for their Highlands wedding. Debi Zeinert’s Classic Calligraphy was paired with a simple blind debossed cross for an elegantly simple look that didn’t compete with the lush landscape of their venue, North Carolina’s Old Edwards Inn and Spa. Debi not only calligraphed the invitation but also the reply card, accommodations card and reception card for a perfectly coordinated ensemble.
