Please note that with program covers, we only print the covers themselves – but the inner pages can easily be printed at home or by a local flat printing company. Since they are scored to fold easily they are available on our 1-ply paper only.  We can print on the inside of program covers and on the backside for an additional 50%.  When printing on both sides of our 1-ply paper we will lessen the impression on both sides to accommodate the added impression. (You wouldn’t want the impression from one side detracting from the impression on the other!).

We are absolutely delighted to share this next real wedding. We printed invitations and programs in our String Calligraphy design to set the tone for Sionne & Nick’s elegant summer wedding, and we were so thrilled when Sionne sent us photos from the big day. She was kind enough to share some of the details of what went into planning this stunning celebration.

What was your favorite part of the day?

We loved the entire weekend that we celebrated with our family and friends – it was so special to get to share one of our favorite places with everyone!  Our favorite memory of the day, however, is our actual wedding ceremony.  One of our best friends, Charles Collins-Chase, officiated our wedding and did the most incredible job.  He centered our ceremony on narratives that he requested that we both write – and not discuss with each other – to explain why we wanted to get married and what getting married meant to each of us.  Hearing each other’s sentiments for the first time in front of our guests made the ceremony really feel like our relationship was culminating in a union that everyone was witnessing.  People kept commenting that it was the most emotional ceremony that they had ever attended and it really brought the focus of the day back on our marriage, rather than just the celebration around it (which was, of course, a favorite memory as well!).

What was the theme or style you were going for?

Nick and I met seven years ago while studying abroad at Oxford, in Great Britain, and we wanted to capture the feel of an English garden party with our wedding.  Without veering too deeply into the theme, we focused on creating a casual elegance with our overarching ambiance and then used some of the details to add thematic nods.  For example, our caterer customized a variation of a Pimms’ Cup for a specialty cocktail and we used antique-y books as decor throughout the reception.  We got married in an adorable beach town, but on the canal rather than the beach, and the entire scene captured the feeling that we sought.  Adding to that the hilarious and touching toasts, the wonderful friends, and the great dancing, it was a wonderful day!

What was the best part of the planning?

The people who helped us with our wedding made the planning so much fun and so easy.  From the tremendous ideas of our wedding planners, to the goals of our parents to give us the wedding that we would be able to look back on and say was just as we wanted it, to our friends who helped us execute our vision, to our vendors who were so accommodating and caring, the people who assisted us made the planning so smooth and the results so memorable for us!

Last week, we shared invitation wording tips for same sex couples with some pointers from Mark Kingsdorf (esteemed wedding planner and etiquette expert), and now we’re back with more advice from Mark and tips on program wording for same sex couples. How do you recognize parents, grandparents, honor attendants, and other guests on the program? Luckily, there are lots of ways to do it — read on to see some of Mark’s tips.

For parents:

- Simply say ‘Parents’ and list both sets of parents (as opposed to the traditional “Parents of the Bride” or “Groom’s Parents”). You could also  say “Mark’s Parent’s” or “Kyle’s Parents”  – this applies for grandparents, too!

For attendants:

- Your wording for attendants can be determined based on the formality of your wedding. In our example below (a tea length program of our Austin Traditional design), each groom’s best man was listed, and the rest of the wedding party was listed under “Honor Attendants”. If you’d like, you can divide the attendants into two columns, placing names on the left or right side depending on which side they’ll be placed on while you’re at the altar.

As with invitation wording, the program text should really fit your style as a couple — if you’ve got a more casual or laid back wedding planned, you can say “Mark’s friends” or “Kyle’s friends” when recognizing your wedding party. Of course, bridesmaids and groomsmen may also be used as well, but if you’ve got men and women in your party, an alternative option would be to list your “Bridesmates” or “Groomsmates”. You can even get creative and incorporate your wedding colors and tie in subtle recognition that way. While there are many possible ways to word your program, it’s important to give recognition to the friends and family members supporting your marriage – so word your programs in a way that best fits your personality and your wedding day.

We printed these beautiful letterpress reception pieces in our Mimosa design for an August wedding in New York. We printed tea-length letterpress programs, menus, table number cards and escort cards in pool. We love the light and airy look of this set, so sweet and summery.

We printed this fabulous customization of our Claddagh letterpress wedding invitation design in antique gold and taupe inks on ivory paper showcasing gorgeous hand calligraphy accents from calligrapher Debi Zeinert. The invitations and reply cards feature corner rounding and the envelopes were lined in taupe. The couple had their wedding website printed on the envelope, as well – a great way to provide guests with additional wedding information! To round out the suite, we also had the pleasure of printing matching letterpress thank you cards and pretty letterpress program covers.

Recently we’ve been a printing a lot of fabulous letterpress ceremony programs and program covers and wanted to share a handful of our favorites. From flat panel tea-length letterpress programs featuring full ceremony details to pretty program covers, we love every opportunity we get to print a great letterpress program. Program covers allow you to print your own insert pages and then tie everything together with a pretty ribbon or colorful twine and lend an extra special touch to a wedding ceremony.

These letterpress wedding invitations are a stunning customized design boasting the gorgeous hand calligraphy of Bella Figura calligrapher Debi Zeinert of The Blooming Quill. The letterpress invitations were printed in black ink with lavender edge painting paired with a reply post card printed in lavender and black. Lavender envelope liners are the perfect coordinating touch. To keep things fun, our Harlow design is used for the letterpress ceremony programs, printed in black and lavender inks, and is accompanied by a pretty tea-length letterpress menu printed in black.

These letterpress wedding ceremony programs and reception pieces were printed in black ink on our white paper featuring our Urbanity design. It’s a chic, modern look that we just love. The ceremony programs, menus and escort cards were letterpress printed on our 1-ply paper, with square table number cards printed on our 2-ply paper. The letterpress menus feature geranium ink to highlight the couple’s names – a great way to add a fun pop of color! A tea-length letterpress events card on 2-ply paper informs guests of various weekend festivities.

Printed in cheerful fuchsia and persimmon inks, this set features our Esperanza letterpress wedding invitation design, new from our 2010 collection. The couple also opted for a bright fuchsia pocketfold and matching envelope liner. In addition to the invitations, we also printed their letterpress programs, escort cards and personalized thank you notes for a complete suite that is vibrant, colorful and perfectly celebratory.
