She’s also the author of Pattern & Palette Sourcebook: The Complete Guide to Choosing the Perfect Color and Pattern in Design (a testament to her sophisticated, joyful and original sense of color). What inspires your designs? My Grandmothers Ona and Emily for their own hip and glamorous style // Patterns in nature // Vibrant, fresh colors // Decorative styles and harmony of Art Nouveau // French paper impressions circa 1920’s // American and French textiles from the 1950’s and 1960’s // Vintage wallpaper prints // Modern and Art Deco architecture // Glamour in art and fashion of the 1940’s & 1950’s // World art and culture
Describe the place where you design. I design in my studio which is alive with gorgeous, bright light and walls adorned with anything and everything that inspires my soul and lights my fire.
What are your favorite colors of the moment? Tangerine, Umber and Sweetpea
What were the colors of your childhood? Lavender - I was in love with it and Turquoise
Describe your perfect wedding. My wedding to-be would be small, non-traditional and celebrated with an intimate group of friends and family in a place that is close to my and my partner’s heart. It would be outdoors, either on a beach possibly in Bali, or another tropical location. Although my heart also resonates with the mountains, as well. I’m open to the location. When I envision my dress, I see Bohemian/Modern Glamour style with light, flowing and incredibly sexy. The outdoor setting of the location would be the backdrop for the space I would want to create, as far as flowers and décor go.
Where is your essential travel destination? Tropical, rich with culture, tropical, tropical - Bali, Indonesia because my heart resonates with the beauty and free spirit of the people, their land, seas and culture. Breathtaking vibe and setting.
What’s on or in your nightstand?
1. A candle by my favorite brand: Pacifica Candles - lovely, fresh and juicy design and scents
2. My journal and pen - because writing, expressing and manifesting my thoughts and dreams means the world to me
